Splitting Pages

Xtracta can receive and process documents with more than one page and either create a single document with multiple pages or split the pages into single-page documents.

Standard Workflow Splitting Process

  1. After uploading a file, access the Engine Learning Screen.
  2. Once the screen is open, use the Smallest thumbnails icon to view multiple pages.
  3. Hover the mouse between pages; the Split Document icon will become visible.
  4. Once the Split Document icon is pressed, a confirmation window will pop up. To continue the splitting process, press OK.
  5. If a document has multiple pages, repeat the process until the required pages are split.
  6. After all pages are split, finish the splitting process.
  7. Another window will pop up, explaining what will happen to the split documents. Press OK to finish the splitting process.
  8. Another window will pop up to confirm that the first page will remain open so the data can be collected. Press OK to continue.

Auto-Splitting Workflow Process

If the workflow is set to auto-split (Detect Automatically), all documents that are uploaded will be split automatically.

Auto-Split Workflow

If the document didn’t split correctly or you need to recombine the pages, the process is different:

  1. After uploading a file, access the Dashboard.
  2. A new icon will appear: Reassign Pages.
  3. The Reassign Window will pop up:
    • Source Document ID: Enter the document ID to be split.
    • Source Pages(s): Select the pages to be split into another document.
    • Target Type: New — will split the document into a new document.
  4. After entering all the information, click Reassign.
  5. The document will be processed, and a message of Reassignment Successful will appear.
  6. Close and return to the dashboard; the split documents can be found there.
